Samara is a trial lawyer at Olson Grimsley, where she has practiced since early 2024. Her work spans contract, antitrust, patent, property, shareholder, and products liability disputes. She has argued and won summary judgment and Rule 50 motions, led discovery, and appeared in state and federal court.
Selected matters:
Trial counsel against Abbott (Similac) for causing necrotizing enterocolitis in premature infants, resulting in a $70 million compensatory and punitive damages verdict;
Trial counsel against Mead Johnson (Enfamil) for causing necrotizing enterocolitis in premature infants, resulting in a $60 million compensatory damages verdict;
Represents hundreds of migrant workers trafficked to build stadiums and infrastructure for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar;
Serves as ongoing counsel for a large publicly held company in several confidential commercial disputes;
Trial counsel in a products liability case alleging Zantac caused her client's prostate cancer, resulting in a settlement and deadlocked jury;
Represented a family in a negligence and misrepresentation case against a real estate company, realtor, and sellers for concealing arsenic contamination in the family's home, resulting in a confidential settlement.
Before joining Olson Grimsley, Samara was at Bartlit Beck where, among other things, she served as trial counsel for Align Technology in several arbitrations against SmileDirectClub (“SDC”). Samara helped recover $63 million in favor of Align and complete defense victories against SDC.
Samara graduated Order of the Coif from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, where she received Senior Research Honors, served as a teaching assistant to Professor Nadav Shoked, and was a Senior APEX Advisor to first-year law students.
She clerked for the Honorable Mary Schroeder of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Before law school, Samara worked as an urban planner throughout the American West.
