Meredith started her legal career as a trial attorney for the Colorado Office of the State Public Defender. As a deputy public defender in the Douglas County regional office, she tried eleven cases to verdict as a first or second chair attorney, represented hundreds of clients facing misdemeanor and felony charges, secured numerous pretrial dismissals, and maintained an active motions practice challenging violations of her clients’ constitutional rights.

Meredith was born and raised in Fort Collins and was selected as Colorado’s 2013 Truman Scholar in recognition of her commitment to public service. 

Meredith graduated from Yale Law School. She clerked for Judge Jennifer Sung of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Meredith received her bachelor’s degree with honors and distinction from Stanford University. She was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to study at the University of Oxford, where she earned an MPhil in Modern Middle Eastern Studies.
